EMERGENCY MEDICINE RECERTIFICATION

The Emergency Medicine examination is delivered as a computer-based test (CBT) - permitting you to select the test center closest to your work or home location. Typically, the examination is available for four (4) weeks during each administration allowing you to select a convenient date during that time period. Most computer testing centers are open Monday - Friday only. Testing centers are located throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.

Submission of an incomplete application may delay the Board’s acceptance of your application in time for you to take the exam on the date you desire.
At the end of the application, you will find a checklist detailing the items you need to attach to the application in order for your application to be considered complete. Please review the materials you are submitting against this checklist.
If, after a period of one year from your submission of your application, all of the application materials are not deemed complete and the application has not been approved by the appropriate board of certification, your application will become invalid, thereby requiring you to submit a new application and application fee in order to pursue recertification. You must meet the certification requirements in effect at the time the second or subsequent application is received by ABPS.
